I have extensive experience in the diagnosis, assessment and definitive management of all problems related to the gallbladder including gallstones.  I am one of a very small cohort of highly specialised liver and pancreatic surgeons who can manage any unexpected complications, which can occur during or after surgery.  I am frequently referred patients with these issues from across the South Central Coast of England for my expert advice and management by other consultant surgical colleagues.  I am able to offer the full range of conventional keyhole, open and advanced robotic surgery for these conditions.

I have a high volume practice managing patients with abdominal wall and groin (inguinal and femoral) hernias both in the NHS and the private settings.  I regularly audit my own outcomes and have high rates of patient satisfaction and low complication rates

I am a consultant general surgeon with a specialist interest in both malignant and benign diseases of the liver, gallbladder, bile duct, and pancreas. My practice encompasses surgery for hernias, as well as a comprehensive range of operations for liver and pancreatic conditions, including relatively minor gallbladder surgeries and more complex major abdominal cancer resections. I am recognised as one of the most experienced robotic HPB surgeons in the UK, particularly in performing surgeries related to the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder, including procedures for gallstones.

I graduated from Cambridge University with honours and undertook general surgical training in the East Midlands. During this time, I conducted full-time research and was awarded a higher degree (MD). I completed comprehensive training in all aspects of general surgery, including gallbladder procedures, as well as in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery in Leicester. This was followed by a year of advanced fellowship training at the Birmingham Liver Unit before taking up a consultant post in Southampton in 2018.
